The Process of Applying for a Driving Licence in Rajasthan

You can submit your Driving Licence application either online or offline, depending on your convenience.

Online Application for a Driving Licence

Here are the steps for an online application:

  • Visit the official portal of RTO Parivahan Sewa.
  • Select "Online Services" and then click on "Driving Licence Related Services".

  • Choose Rajasthan and select the option "Apply for LL/Learner’s Licence".
  • Fill in your details, upload necessary documents, and pay the application fee.
  • Once you pass the Learner’s Licence test, you will receive your initial licence.
  • After your Learner’s Licence is at least 30 days old, you can apply for a permanent licence via the same website.
Apply for Driving Licence
  • Apply for a permanent licence by submitting the required documents and fees.
  • Appear for your licence test at your local RTO office.

After the test, RTO officials will verify your documents and send your Driving Licence via speed post.

Offline Application for a Driving Licence

The offline application process involves the following steps:

  • Download the application Form 2 from the Parivahan website, fill it, and submit it at your local RTO along with necessary documents.
  • Pay the application fees and take your Learner’s Licence test.
  • Submit an application for a permanent licence to schedule your driving test.
  • Appear for the practical exam with the acknowledgement receipt you received when submitting the application.

Once the process is completed, your permanent DL will be sent to your home address.

Types of Driving Licences

Rajasthan's RTO issues various types of Driving Licences based on the type of vehicle and its validity.

  • Learner's Licence: For two-wheelers and four-wheelers, valid for 6 months.
  • Permanent DL for two-wheelers (gearless): For mopeds, gearless scooters, etc.
  • Permanent DL for two-wheelers (geared): For geared motorbikes, scooters, etc.
  • Permanent DL for four-wheelers: For private cars like SUVs, MUVs, sedans, hatchbacks, etc.
  • Permanent DL for transport vehicles: For trucks, autorickshaws, buses, etc.
  • Permanent DL in other categories: For transport vehicles carrying hazardous goods.

Eligibility for a Driving Licence in Rajasthan

Here are the key eligibility criteria for obtaining a Driving Licence in Rajasthan:

  • For a gearless vehicle DL, applicants must be a minimum of 16 years old.
  • For a geared vehicle DL, applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • For a transport/commercial vehicle DL, applicants must be a minimum of 20 years old.
